Thallus: white, continuous, mostly endophloeodal, effuse; prothallus: indistinct anatomy: without a differentiated medulla, I+, K/I+ deep blue Ascomata: scattered, +round or slightly irregular, 0.3-0.5 mm in diam., sessile, constricted at base, immarginate disc: black, plane to slightly convex, with smooth or somewhat uneven surface exciple: dark brown, closed below the subhymenium, 20-25 µm wide above and 20-60 wide basally, I+, K/I+ deep blue pseudoepithecium: dark brown, not reticulate hymenium: hyaline, 70-90 µm tall, I+, K/I+ blue; paraphysoids: with apical cells up to 4 µm wide, branched and interwoven but not reticulate subhymenium: pale brown, 70-110 µm thick, I+, K/I+ deep blue asci: narrowly clavate to subcylindrical (45-)50-70 x 10-12 µm ascospores: hyaline, 3-6(-7)-septate transversely, Jenikii-type, 20-32(-35) x 3-3.5(-4) µm Pycnidia: semi-immersed in the thallus, punctiform; in section subglobose, 65-75 µm tall and 5565 µm wide, with wall apically dark brown and pale brown at the base conidia: 9-13(-15) x 1 µm, curved Spot tests: all negative Secondary metabolites: none detected.
