Wetmore CM. 2001. The Caloplaca citrina group in North and Central America. The Bryologist 104(1): 1-11.

Notes.  Thallus yellowish orange (Light Orange Yellow to Light Cadmium), areolate to slightly squamulose (0.2–1.5 mm), convex, sorediate, areoles and squamules convex, slightly lobed, sometimes slightly whitish pruinose, soralia marginal from lower surface, soredia fine (23–30 mm), no prothallus. Cortex without necral layer, 14–21 mm thick, paraplectenchymatous, algal layer continuous, medulla dense. Apothecia and pycnidia not seen.  Only one specimen was seen, but it is distinctly different from the other sorediate species treated here with its clumped areoles, longer lobes, and soralia only from the lower surface of the lobes.  Ecology and distribution. On calcareous rocks in the Arctic. Known from Greenland, Iceland, and Svalbard (Hansen et al. 1987; Søchting 1992).
