TYPE. COLOMBIA. On thallus of Hypotrachyna, 30.VII.1998, Etayo 16539 (COL, holotype).

Description. Lichenicolous fungus.

Thallus absent. Ascomata apothecoid, convex, 245-450 μm diam., base constricted; disk greenish pruinose or not. Exciple 25-30 μm laterally; outer layer brown, N+ intense orange; inner layer hyaline. Epithecium dark or olive green, intensifying in K, N+ violaceous; hymenium 70-80 μm high, greenish, K+ blue-green; hypothecium brown, K+ olive green, N+ deep orange. Paraphyses branched to anastomosing. Asci clavate, bitunicate, 8-spored 60-70 x 7-11 μm; ascospores brown, ornamented, 2-celled, one cell slightly larger, 11-14 x 5-5.5 μm.

Hosts and Habitat. On thalli of parmelioid lichens (Hypotrachyna, Parmelinopsis) in humid, shaded forests.

Distribution. East Asia (Taiwan), Neotropics, southeastern North America; in North Carolina found in the Coastal Plain and Blue Ridge ecoregions; expected throughout.
