Thallus crustose, moderately thick or sized, farinose-granulose, white, neither KHO nor CaCl2O2 react, but together these react slightly reddish, hypothallus indistinct. Apothecia adnate on thallus, thallus barely above, 0.2-0.3 millim. broad, blackish or dark brown/grayish brown-black, naked, opaque, thin, disc plane, smooth, margin thin. Excipulum reddish on the side, moderately thin, dilute reddish or pale at base, thin or very thin, thallus adnate, formed from subparallel hyphae with hymenium and peripheral apothecia, thin, conglutinate. Hypothecium pale, thin, formed from irregularly woven together hyphae, cellular cavities small, subglobose. Hymenium circ. 0.070-0.080 millim. thick, I tawny. Epithecium dark brown/grayish-brown-pale, KHO-. Paraphyses lax, coherent, moderate, apices clavate, simple. Asci cylindrical or cylindrical-clavate, membrane entirely thin. Spores 8, monostichous or rarely distichous, subglobose, simple, hyaline, 0.006-0.008 millim. long, 0.005-0.006 millim. thick. Gonidia cystococcaceous, globose, 0.010-0.018 millim. diam., membrane moderately thin, commonly simple, sometimes globules green, containing many.—It is allied with L. humosa, which differs from it in more traits.
Above mosses and other vegetables, +/- decayed located in the region towards the east from the bay of Koljutschin.
