Abstract: (modified from the natural area website: https://www.alamance-nc.com/recreation/outdoors/cane-creek-mountains-natural-area/): Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area (CCMNA) is located in the Cane Creek Mountains Range, a Piedmont Monadnock range that covers much of the southwest quadrant of Alamance County. The mountain range is also home to the highest peak in North Carolina east of Greensboro at 987 feet (300 m). This checklist covers the lichens recorded from CCMNA since before the park was opened in 2020 and includes several saxicolous species found on the many exposed outcrops of this Piedmont Monadnock. More information on the Cane Creek Mountains can be found on Wikipedia.
