Thallus moderately thick, smooth or tuberculate, becoming chinky-areolate, dull gray or white pruinose, areolae to 1.2 mm broad; with no isidia but with round soralia on areolae bearing granulose, gray soredia. Apothecia unknown.
Reactions: cortex and medulla all negative.
Contents: unknown.
This species was found on acid rock. It is known only from Dundas Harbor, Devon Island, Northwest Territories. In the absence of fruits, the true position of this sterile lichen may remain uncertain.
