Description.Life form: lichenized fungus.
[Translated, interpreted from protologue (Tuckerman 1860)] Thallus minute, granulose-subsquamulose, whitish. Ascomata biatorine or lecanorine apothecia, small; disk concave, reddish; margin thin, pale. Asci 8-spored; ascospores ovoid, hyaline, simple, diam. 2-2 ½ longer than wide.
Chemistry. Not reported.
Substrate and Habitat. On soil.
Distribution. Reported only from the type locality.
Notes. Lecidea microps is only described from the protologue, based on a fragment of a specimen. To quote Tuckerman: “I offer it here only for further investigation.”
