Boom no. 14815 (Hb. v.d. Boom, holotype). UKRAINE. Eastern Carpathians, Gorgany Mts., Ust-Coma, a valley of a right-side tributary of Turbet brook, loc. “Jamen”, ~3 km NNW of a saddle (2 km W of point 1704 m), on semiinundated wood in the brook, alt. ~1000 m, 3.VII.1997, Z. Palice s.n. (hb. Palice, paratype).
Life form. Lichenized fungus.
Description. [Translated and modified from Breuss (1998)] Thallus crustose, thin, greenish brown, from small, flat to slightly curved fields; hypothallus indistinct. Ascomata perithecia, depressed, spherical, 200-300 µm diam.; perithecial wall uniformly dark, 20-30 µm thick. Asci clavate, 60-75 x 23-30 µm; ascospores simple, hyaline, ellipsoid to slightly ovoid, (23-) 25-30 x (11-) 12-14 µm.
Substrate and habitat: Corticolous or lignicolous, in mesic to semi-aquatic habitats.
Distribution. Europe, North America; in North Carolina found in the Blue Ridge ecoregion.
