basalt cobble on ground
brownish-grayish scurfy verruculose indeterminate crust, K+y C- KC+y or remaining so, apothecia abundant scattered black convex dull becoming essentially immarginate, epihymenium very dark red/violet-brown becoming red-brown in K, hymenium clear hyaline, hypothecium opaque white to pale brownish below POL+ mostly clearing in K, exciple somewhat greenish brown POL- K?, paraphyses slender and unbranched 1.5-2um abruptly swollen to pigmented cap ~3um wide, asci with strongly K/I+ blue thick thollus with narrow K/I- tube not quite making it all the way through (appearing entirely blue end-on in strong K/I) walls thick K/I-, spores 8 per ascus simple ellipsoid to oblong smooth hyaline thick-walled 14-17x8-9um, chemistry atranorin and zeorin by TLC (perf.
