Locality: United States, Nevada, Pershing County, Humboldt Range, Black Canyon, ~350 m east up ridge from top of faint mining track at head of canyon

40.5477  -118.1908 +-5m.

Elevation: 2496 meters (8187ft)

Habitat: broad east-west ridge with thin low _Artemisia_ scrub; limestone scree and occasional talus blocks with local vein of some sort of yellowish crumbly sandstone-like rock

Substrate: rotten iron-rich sandstone

Notes: thallus well-developed yellow, areoles clearly crenulate, apothecia with thick margin, parathecium obscured above by escaped algae(?!) not forming anything like a stipe, hymenium ~70um, spores 8 per ascus narrowly bent-oblong ~16-18x4.5-5.5um
