Habitat: high on north-facing slope; _Artemisia_ and thick desert scrub; probably mixture of limestone and rhyolite scree
Substrate: old concrete trough
Associated Species: Caloplaca atroalba, Flavoplaca flavocitrina, Staurothele monicae
Notes: thallus dirty off-white K-, apothecia scattered bright orange sessile with thick ~prominant orange proper margins and very thin, parathecium expanded to 50-100um at top, hymenium ~75um, paraphyses branched ~clavate to at most ~5-6um, spores 8 per ascus ~16-17x7-8um septum ~1.5-2um
