Habitat: bottom few hundred meters of north-facing slope of narrow east-west-running valley with dense _Pinus monophylla_ forest with scattered _Juniperus_ and _Cercocarpus_ and granitic and quartzite talus
Substrate: quartzite fragment on ground
Notes: thallus mostly immersed to scattered, whitish, thin convex areoles, I- where present; apothecia discose, flat, round, black, lightly pruinose, with thick smooth ~prominant black rims; epihymenium blackish; hymenium hyaline, clear; hypothecium white, POL+ strong not clearing in K, I+v; exciple brownish, POL+ clearing in K but no bubbles, C- in section; spores 8 per ascus, 10-13x3.5-4.0um oblong; TLC 4-O-demethylplanaic (JPH plate 57.15 on 20180709)
