Habitat: bottom few hundred meters of north-facing slope of narrow east-west-running valley with dense _Pinus monophylla_ forest with scattered _Juniperus_ and _Cercocarpus_ and granitic and quartzite talus
Substrate: quartzite fragment on ground
Notes: thallus bluish-gray areolate-subsquamulose, apothecia scattered substipitate, disk dark brown matte-shiny, proper margin black prominant smooth K+ purple, thalline margin ragged ~poorly developed K+ purple, epihymenium brown POL- K-, hymenium ~85um hyaline clear, subhymenium ~90um inspersed hyaline, algae continuous in rims and under hymenium, spores 8 per ascus ~15-18x8-9um septum ~2.5um, cortex ~20-25um gray granular K+ purple
