rugose whitish thallus K+y, large crowded constricted apothecia, disk red-brown to blackish-brown multicolored depending on exposure convex lightly pruinose esp. outer half, rims rugose and conspicuous to thin and almost excluded, epihymenium with abundant coarse orange-brown granules on top clearing in K, amphithecium with discontinuous algae and filled with fine and large crystals partly clearing in K, spores 8 per ascus ellipsoid smooth simple ~12-15x7-8um 14.0±0.7x7.4±0.4um (N=7) with distinct wall ~0.8-0.9um thick
