brownish-olive-gray rimose-areolate thallus with indeterminate margin no prothallus, apothecia scattered soon adnate to slightly constricted and convex, disk black ~pruinose, rims pruinose and appearing to have thin thalline rim at first but soon receding black where sheltered and not dusty/pruinose, epihymenium brown K- POL-, exciple brown outside K- POL-, hypothecium brown K- POL-, spores 8 per ascus submuriform brown 3 lenticular cells when young and still unpigmented ~16-18x10-12um 3 transverse septae 1-3 longitudinal septae
