large globose faintly pruinose black apothecia sitting on host thallus, epihymenium dark brown POL- turning greenish and bleeding yellow in K, hymenium pale to slightly brownish not inspersed, hypothecium pale brownish, asci narrowly clavate entirely K/I- hard to even see, spores 8 per ascus brown septate ~textured one cell larger than other ~15-17x6-7um
