thallus areolate, brownish-olivish; cortex K- C- KC- P- I- UV- POL-, ~25um + ~50um epinecral layer; medulla white, K- C- KC- UV- P- KUV- I- POL+; apothecia black, epruinose, superficial; rim glossier, raised, flexuose, smooth; epihymenium aeruginose-black; hymenium ~80um, clear; subhymenium ~brownish; hypothecium dark brown at top, I+ blue below; exciple purple-brown edge and purplish inside, K+ purpler maybe, C- in section, I+ bluish inside; paraphyses simple, septate, expanded slightly to 3-4um at tip; asci lecidea-type; spores not seen; TLC nothing (JPH plate 40.5 solvent C on 20180204)
