thallus verrucose, shiny dusky gray; cortex K~v near apothecia; medulla K- C- KC- UV- KUV~ ice P-; apothecia discose, black, epruinose, looking like an Aspicilia ; epihymenium K+v; spores 2 per ascus, smooth, ~80-90x40-55um, K+v (looks like hymenium is K+v)
