thallus inconspicuous; perithecia superficial, black, lumpy, ~400um wide; involucrellum arching away above half; exciple thin and black all around; hymenium I+b-r quick, K/I+ blue; paraphyses absent or dissolving early; periphyses slender and branched, ~40x1um; asci broadly clavate, thin-walled at maturity, thickened K/I- apical cushion when immature, ~100x60um; spores 8 per ascus, hyaline, muriform, one end tapered a bit more, ~7 trans. septae, ~3 long. septae, 30-35x15-18um
