thallus cracked areolate, continuous, determinate but irregularly so because of texture of substrate, thin, white, piled high with granules insol. in K; apothecia immersed then adnate to sessile finally; disk dark red-brown-black; thalline rim smooth, persistent, like cortex, ~50um below apothecia; epihymenium brown, K~v weak; hymenium ~70um, inspersed; subhymenium and hypothecium together ~70um, inspersed; parathecium oval cells to moniliform near top, K+v at top; paraphyses weakly branched near tips, tips slightly swollen and elongated; spores rare, ~12-13x6um septum ~1um
