thallus foliose, irregularly lobate; lobes subirregular, elongate, plane to convex, apices subrotund; upper surface yellow-green, smooth, but becoming rugose with age; medulla white; lower surface brown, rhizinate; rhizines simple, brown; apothecia not seen; spot tests: medulla K+ yellow to red, P+ dark orange-red; TLC usnic, psoroma, conpsoromic
