Locality: Ecuador, Galapagos, Isla Isabela, Galapagos Islands. Isla Isabela, southwest coast. Cerro Azul. Steep grassy slopes between Iguana Cove and summit, 1000-4000 ft. alt.
Elevation: 305 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1000 ft.
Habitat: Occurring on fixed boulders above the wooded zone but most abundant along the east-facing sides of lava trenches just below the beginning of the inversion layer. Forming luxurious continuous carpets over rock, with small amounts of S. weberi Lamb.
