Locality: Ecuador, Galapagos, Isla Isabela, southwest coast. Cerro Azul. Steep grassy slopes between Iguana Cove and summit.
Elevation: 305-427 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1000-1400ft
Habitat: Occurring on fixed boulders above the wooded zone but most abundant along the east-facing sides of lava trenches just below the beginning of the inversion layer.
Associated Species: Stereocaulon weberi
Description: Forming luxurious continuous carpets over the rock, with small amounts of S. weberi Lamb.
