U.S.A., Arizona, Cochise, Chiricahua National Monument; Lost Canyon, a small tributary of Bonita Canyon, just east of Park Headquarters.
On Pinus chihuahuana, rarely on Pinus cembroides. Limited to trees 4-6 inches d.b.h. and with trunks leaning about 10 degrees to the west (thus holding more snow and water than strictly erect trees, which are quite barren of lichens).
