Habitat: Open Oak/ Pine woodland. Mixed Quercus kelloggii, Pine, Ceanothus, Cercocarpus, etc. On Pinus.
Notes: Grey-black translucent apothecia; white crust. Collected also with Cal. Lichen Society. Substrate: Corticolous.
