thallus scattered areolate; areoles small, brownish, thin, convex, over thin black prothallus, K- I+v; apothecia punctiform to finally dilated, inset, red-brown, epruinose, whitish-pruinose thin line around rim; epihymenium red-brown, clear, POL-, paler in K; hymenium ~50-75um, clear; amphithecium finely POL+ throughout, clearing in K, K-; cortex ~25um, brown to gray granular, mostly clearing in K; asci strongly porpidia-type; paraphyses well-branched, moniliform near tips; spores 8 per ascus, ~12x8um or more?, ellipsoid, hyaline, smooth, simple, thin-walled
