moss over calcareous soil
thallus crustose, areolate, fully attached to substrate; areoles convex, coarsely white pruinose in places, yellowish to greenish to brownish, dark below; cortec paraplect., ~40um, POL+ clearing in K, K+y, cells globose ~5um, epicortex ~5-10um; medulla faintly yellowish, POL-, loose prosoplect.; thallus K~y weak? C- KC+y distinct UV- 350-375nm P~y weak; apothecia immersed, flush, flat to weakly convex, dark brown, epruinose; epihymenium brown, ~granular, POL-; hymenium inspersed, ~70um; hypothecium yellowish to brown below, POL- or weak, K- or weak yellow; paraphyses simple, clavate to ~5um, brown pigment-capped; asci clavate, ~porpidia-type?! with flanks of axial mass clearly stronger K/I+ than the rest of the thollus and axial mass penetrating all the way through; spores consistently 4(6) per ascus, 1-septate, brown smooth, somewhat constricted, thin-walled most of the time but briefly and weakly physcia-type when immature, ~18-21x7-10um
