Notes: thallus endolithic; apothecia weakly but uniformly pruinose; rims very thin; epihymenium purple-brown, purpler in K; hymenium ~50-60um; hypothecium pale brownish, POL+ strong and coarse, K- and C-; exciple dark brown outside but poorly delimted from pale brownish inside, K+ very faintly pinkish and building up a store of bubbles which obscure view but which do not stream away, C- in section, I- or very weak bluish, POL~ weak; spores 8 per ascus, oblong-ellipsoid, ~10x3-3.5um
