thallus thin-areolate, dirty brownish-grayish; apothecia densely packed, polygonal, dark red-brown, epruinose; epihymenium brown, clear, K+v slow; hymenium 100um, clear; subhymenium weakly inspersed; proper margin K+v stronger; parathecium radiating thick rectangular cells; amphithecium globose cells; cortex hyaline? K-; paraphyses ~2um below expanding to ~4um, last few cells swollen, unbranched; spores 8 per ascus, 15-17x8-10um, septum ~1um, ~constricted at septum
