thallus brownish dirty inconspicuous; apothecia Rinodina-like with thin pale rims and dark brown faintly convex disks; epihymenium brown, clear, K-; hymenium ~90um; subhymenium inspersed; cortex granular, brown to slightly grayish, K+v slow; medulla POL+ weak; paraphyses swollen to ~3-3.5um at tips; ascus teloschistes-type; spores 8 per ascus, oblong, simple, hyaline, slightly constricted at middle in many but not actually septate, ~20-25x7um
