(not fading at all) UV- 350-375nm KUV- P~y slow and weak; apothecia dark red-brown, shiny, epruinose, rims conspicuously cracked; epihymenium red-brown, POL+, clearing granules in K but retaining most pigment; hymenium ~75um, clear; amphithecial cortex ~50um all around, densely gray granular, POL+ coarse and strong, not clearing in K; amphithecial medulla POL+ weak clearing in K; paraphyses slender, branched and anastomosing, ~1um below, abruptly swollen at tip to ~2-2.5um; spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, ~12x6um
