Coastal Sand Pine Scrub on old sand dune 9 years after Hurricane Ivan crossed site; Overstory of scattered Pinus clausa; Shrub layer of Quercus geminata, Q. myrtifolia, Ceratiola ericoides; Vegetation in patches with ~50% bare sand. Lichens photographed and collected from dead stem (1-2cm diameter) in 5 m wide clone of myrtle oak (Quercus geminata). Hurricane Ivan-killed stem. Trunk cut to obtain specimens.
