Vainio, E. (1909). Lichenes in viciniis stationis hibernae expeditionis Vegae prope pagum Pitlekai in Sibiria septentrionali a Dre. E. Almquist collecti. Praefationem scripsit F. Almquist. Arkiv for Botanik, Band 8, No. 4: 97.
Thallus cortical layer formed from an arranged series of simple cells, 0.070-0.140 millim. thick. Medulla layer irregularly plectenparenchymatous, subcortical layer already cavernous throughout, nostocaceous gonidia in cavities, sparingly containing mosses. However, thallus habit entirely similar to L. crenatulo and perhaps its varieties. State intermediate between these species near Pitlekai legit cel. Almquist, medulla layer partly plectenparenchymatous, partly formed from lax hyphae woven together (in the same section of the thallus), inserted, for this reason genus Homodium Nyl. not even subgenus Leptogii can be established.—In Homodio crenato Nyl., on Island Behringii a cel. E. Almqui. collected (according to specimen n. 41117 in herb. Nyl.), thallus 0.060-0.070 millim. thick, interior irregularly plectenparenchymatous, cavernous throughout, nostocaceous gonidia in cavities, sparingly containing mosses. Spores described by Nyl.
Above mosses, +/- decayed, on sandy soil on peninsula Jinreteln Ster.
