Thin, white thallus, as if it were painted/plastered on, diffuse, dull, weakly-grained,
Apothecia dull, about 0.5 mm in diameter, brown-black, or slightly more pale colored, convex, without edges, in transverse sections to white colorless, with blackish epithecium. Paraphyses loosely bonded with. Spores 20-30 x 4-5 μm, fusiform, 3-septate.
Hymenial layer I+ turns blue, then changes yellow and red.
On decayed mosses.
