Apothecia appressed-sessile, lecanorine, round or rounded, up to 1 mm broad, in center of thallus moderately close together, rarely in marginal lobes; disc grayish-brown black, opaque, darker when wetted, from minutely convex to slightly convex, thalline margin concolourous with thallus, narrow, slightly acute, disc moderately raised above thallus, at last slightly depressed, cortex moderately narrow, formed from covered over intricate hyphae, gonidia copiously included; excipulum distinctly undeveloped; hypothecium hyaline, soft, formed from non-inspersed hyphae; upper hymenium narrow, olivaceous, not inspersed, here and there thin stratum, amorphous roof, KHO-, NO5 verdigris, otherwise hyaline and pure, 170-190 µ tall, J coppery-whitish yellow; paraphyses filiform, conglutinate, simple or sparingly branched, apices gradually broadening; asci close together, ellipsoid or oblong-clavate, rounded above and encircled by well-thickened membrane, 8-spored; spores in asci biseriate, hyaline, simple, ellipsoid or suboval, straight, enclosed by thin membrane, containing oil, no droplets, 18-21 µ long and 9-10 µ broad.
Pycnocondial conceptaculum inserted in marginal lobes, punctiform, black, convex; lower part of perifulcrium hyaline, c. dark ostiole; fulcrum exobasidial; basidia narrowly flask-shaped, congested; pycnocondia bacilliform-cylindrical, suberect or curved 15-18 µ long and to 1 µ broad.
