Thallus: placodioid, tightly adnate, areolate, at the margin radiate-plicate; areoles: convex, contiguous; lobes: contiguous, tightly adnate; upper surface brown to olivaceous, smooth; apotheciia: numerous, immersed, densely crowded centrally in the thallus; disc: brown, pruinose; asci: oblong-elipsoid; ascospores; hyaline, simple; spot tests: thallus K-, epihymenium N+ light green
