decorticate _Pinus ponderosa_ stump
mostly immersed but with a few bits of smooth thin corticate greenish thallus here and there, apothecia strongly convex to globose and cauliflower-like mostly black but with gray to almost pale in shaded parts dull, epihymenium dark gray-brown K+ mauve, hymenium hyaline ~inspersed? ~40um, hypothecium hyaline ~inspersed, exciple lacking, algae micareoid, asci small with featureless? K/I+ dark blue truncate tip and thin but distinct walls, spores 8 per ascus simple oblong hyaline smooth ~7-10x2.5-3.5um
