thallus pale gray-green, well-developed, K+y to slightly dingy C- KC~ UV- KUV- UV+y 375nm; apothecia plane to convex, pale greenish to slightly brownish to charcoal gray-tinged where exposed, lightly to distinctly pale pruinose, rims thin and soon excluding; epihymenium coarsely granular POL+, clearing in K and turning faintly olive; hymenium ~50-55um, clear; cortex indistinct, POL+ coarse esp. outer edge, < 20um; spores ~12-13x3-4um (verified twice); TLC isousnic + terpenoids (JPH plate 65.04 solvent C on 20180709)
