thallus areolate; areoles pale "dusty" orange, irregular, margins subsquamulose in places; cortex indistinct, ~25um, paraplect, globose cells to ~5-6um; hymenium ~100um, clear; subhymenium ~inspersed, very deep; parathecium brighter, ~30um thick, plunging below subhymenium, well-developed at top, dense fine radiating to intricate hyphae < 2um thick, clear; hypothecium grading into irregular globose cells below parathecium; spores (12)12.6-14.4(15)x(6.5)6.8-8.2(9)um Q=(1.4)1.6-2.0 septum 3.5-4.6(5)um N=11, avg. 13.5x7.5um septum 4um Q=1.8
