Description: thallus growth form foliose, Thallus loosely adnate, 6-15 cm diam, irregularly lobate; lobes form an imbricate mat, 2-5 mm wide; upper surface yellow to yellow-green, smooth but strongly rugose width age, epruinose and emaculate; medulla white; lower surface black, plane, shiny, sparsely rhizinate (black); apothecia common, 2-15 mm wide; disc cinnamon-brown to dark brown
