Umbilicaria muhlenbergii
(Ach.) Tuck.

Family:
Umbilicariaceae
[Actinogyra muhlenbergii ]
 Stephen Sharnoff |
Notes: Umbilicaria mühlenbergii is very common in the eastern parts of North America. It is readily separated from U. angulata by its lack of rhizomorphs. The sunken depressions in which its actinodisc apothecia are typically found is an unique feature of U. mühlenbergii among the Sonoran Umbilicariae.
