Thompson, J., 1997. American Arctic Lichens: The Microlichens.
Thallus orangish, thin, smooth to chinky but not arcolate. Apothecia tiny, 0.1-0.2 mm broad, immersed, concave, pale; hymenium 65 μm, pale; paraphyses slender, 1.7-2.5 μm; asci cylindrico-clavate, 50 x 13 μm; spores uniseri-ate, 8 per ascus, hyaline, subglobose, 9-10 x 7-9 μm according to Nylander (I.e.).
This species, growing on calcareous mica-schist, is known only from the type specimen collected at Port Clarence, Alaska, by Almquist in 1879 and is an exceedingly tiny fragment. It could be but a poorly developed specimen of another species.
