Description:
Thallus crustose, areolate, continuous, forming small rosettes; surface ivory, dull, pruinose; apothecia lecideine, sessile; margin black; disc: black, convex; epihymenium brown; hymenium hyaline; asci 8-spored; ascospores brown, 1-eptate; spot tests: K+ yellow, P+ yellow
Notes:
Very variable in in surface color. Collected two Buellia dispersa at the same site which were either ivory or gray.
