thallus foliose; lobes linear-discrete; upper surface gray brown to brown, with lobe ends pruinose; soredia in marginal elongated soralia; medulla yellowish-white; lower cortex prosoplectenchymatous; lower surface dark tan, rhizines black squarrousely branched; apothecia not seen; spot test: medulla and soralia K+ yellow, KC+ yellow to orange
