Annot.: Examination of the type material of Triehothelium annulatum s. latu [Santesson, R, Symb. Bot Ups. 12:275 (1952)] revealed that Triehothelium bipindense F. Schill. is an earlier name available for Triehothelium amazonense Bezerra & Cavalcante. The species differs from Triehothelium annulatum s. str. by the pure black, smaller perithecia with acute, often very thin perithecial setae and the smaller (45-55 x 3-4 ¿im), 8-11-septate ascospores.
