In bottom of a small crater, forming patches of white in Sphagnum erythrocalyx mat; seasonally wet depression; stems mostly trifðrcate, sometimes tetrafurcate, main stem not obvious. In processing this material the following characteristics set this apart very distinctly from C. galapa-gosensis. The plants are white, with the upper side of the branches typically browned; the stems are extremely fragile when dry, flaccid and breaking easily even when wet. The stems are smooth, without the rough lumpiness of C. galapagosensis.
