Habitat: Sandstone rock outcrops and adjacent mixed grass prairie with Bouteloua gracilis, Buchloe dactyloides, Opuntia polyacantha, Hesperostipa comata, Bromus tectorum, Rhus trilobata, Celtis reticulata, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Elymus canadensis, Toxicodendron rydbergii, and Pascopyrum smithii.
Substrate: Saxicolous, one of the most common lichens at site; spores simple, hyaline, 14x5 uM, 10x5 uM (total range: 9-14 x 4-6 uM)
