Moderately thin thallus, rough, warty, continuous or diffuse, grayish-bluish.
Apothecia 0.3-0.4 mm in diameter, scattered, constricted at the base, with flat, brownish-reddish bare disc, surrounded by a thin, pale-gray, occasionally brownish, slightly protruding margin. Epithecium pale, often pale-reddish. Hymenial layer 50-55 microns in height, colorless, in places pale-reddish. Hymenium pale or weakly yellow. Exciple (the protective formation around the hymenial layer of the apothecia) pale, reddish only in the lateral part of the inside, formed by radially arranged, agglutinated hyphae.
Paraphyses loose, weakly connected, 1-1.5 microns thick, slightly thickened on top to 3-3.5 microns wide, septate. Asci 45 x 14-16 microns. Spores 16—20 x 5-6 microns, elongated until almost fusiform, blunted on the ends, with 1-3 septae (2-4 celled).
Epithecium with K becoming red. Hymenial layer I+ blue, then becomes a dark wine red
On silicate and shale rocks in streams, on mountain slopes.
