Description. Life form: lichenized fungus.
Thallus crustose, thin, whitish, ecorticate; vegetative diaspores absent. Photobiont trentepohlioid alga. Ascomata lirellae, < 2 mm long, immersed, straight or curved, occasionally once-branched, visible as faint lines. Exciple indistinct; hymenium not inspersed. Asci 8-spored; ascopores hyaline, 4-celled, 15-17 × 6-7 µm.
Chemistry. No substances detected by TLC.
Substrate and Habitat. Corticolous on trees.
Distribution. Southeastern North America along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts; in North Carolina found in the Coastal Plain ecoregion.
